Located in the province of Limón, the Hitoy Cerere biological sanctuary protects 10,000 hectares of primary forest classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, nature has been preserved in its purest state, far from any human intervention.
Its name says it all: Hitoy means "moss on the stones" and Cerere "clear waters" in the Bribri language. A promise of freshness, silence and wild beauty. Crystal rivers, majestic waterfalls and lush forests compose a landscape that seems to have emerged from the beginning of the world.
The expedition takes place in groups of maximum 11 people, accompanied by an official reserve guide. A rare privilege — very few tour operators have access to this exceptionally well-preserved sanctuary.
